Next Open Meeting, Monday 20th April at the Bowls Club - Derek Adams talk is entitled 'Lee Miller - 20th Century Woman'

Derek Adams is an author and poet and his talk on the 20th April is about Lee Miller, an American photographer and photo journalist who was also a fashion model in New York City in the 1920s before going to Paris where she became a fashion and fine-art photographer.

During World War II she was a war photographer and correspondent for Vogue magazine covering events such as the London Blitz and the Liberation of Paris. She had long been denied the recognition for her work as an artist, but her son's discovery and promotion of her work has established her reputation as an art and war photographer.
