Summer Concert - World in Union - Saturday 18th July 12 noon

Our Harmony Choir presents its Summer Concert 'WORLD IN UNION' at 12pm on Saturday 18th July on the Bandstand in Jubilee Gardens, also featuring our Ukulele Group.

This is the highlight of our Summer Season and our Harmony Choir have chosen a wonderful selection of songs for you which includes melodies from Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady, John Rutter, The Beach Boys, Mamas and Papas, and Take That. Our Ukulele Group will also be performing a well-known selection from their vast repertoire - so a wonderful afternoon of entertainment is guaranteed.

Entry is free whilst donations are welcomed and will all go to EACH, the East Anglian Children's Hospices - a really worthwhile charity. We look forward to seeing you there.

We are a mixed choir of talents and voice range. You will fit in! No auditions and you will get a warm welcome. Singing can lower the blood pressure!

We meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at Quendon Village Hall from 11.30am to 1pm. There is a car park adjacent to the hall.

We sing a variety of music with the emphasis on enjoyment and fun. Some bits are a bit more serious but you will be surprised how our tutor Isobel brings us into harmony. Recently we sang songs from Oliver, The Greatest Showman, The Carpenters and some Matt Munroe hits from the 60s. We sing from word sheets so reading music is not required.

Fees vary according to membership numbers. There are vacancies in all sections be you a soprano, alto, tenor or baritone. Come along for a taster session. We can accommodate another four or five tenors, baritones and basses in short supply! Give it a GO!

The EACH Carol Service on Tuesday evening 17th December 2024 was a resounding success. The Baptist Church was full to capacity with u3a members and the gallery was pretty full too. The service itself was very moving and emotional and the choir were in exceptional good voice. Members kindly made their donations at the end as they walked through for the refreshments and a record £1355 was raised for the Each Anglia's Childrens Hospices. A big thank you to all those members who attended and who gave their donations so generously.

The Saffron Walden u3a Harmony Choir presented their summer concert for this year entitled ‘As Long As I have Music’ on the Bandstand in the Jubilee Gardens on Saturday 20th July 2024 from 12 to 2 pm .

There was a wonderful selection of songs, with the Ukulele Group performing in the interval, which were enjoyed by many and the weather was perfect as you can see in the above photo! We raised a magnificent £500 for EACH, East Anglian Children’s Hospices, which was well above the £273 from last year, thanks to the weather and all those who turned out to support us.
